Here are some photos from our trip to CoNSERNS-U. Students delivered and unpacked 1,333 cans that were collected during our Green Meadow canned food drive. The kids also worked very hard setting up a holiday shop for families who are unable to provide gifts for their families. They unloaded over 30 boxes and bins of toys and organized them on shelves. Finally, students worked to pack Thanksgiving food bags for families in need. These bags will be given to families in Rensselaer County. Our next stop was the Castleton VFW. Students met with four local veterans and learned about individuals from Castleton who earned the purple heart award. Students also learned how to properly thank a veteran, what it means to serve, what the VFW provides, and proper flag etiquette. Students were also given a souvenir flag. The students were asking when we can go back to help again! Wonderful work today from everyone!
Thank you for sharing your kids with us! - Mrs. Kusche & Mr. Flanagan We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your hard work and dedication in planning and executing our Veterans Day breakfast and assembly. We were very impressed by your genuine and polite interactions with the veterans throughout the morning. You took the time to connect with each and every veteran, and your respectful demeanor was a reflection of the values that our school community holds dear. Your participation in the parade afterwards was the icing on the cake. Your enthusiasm and energy were contagious, and you helped bring a sense of joy and unity to the entire event. Thank you again for your outstanding service to our school and community. We are incredibly proud to have such dedicated and compassionate students representing Green Meadow. - Mrs. Kusche & Mr. Flanagan Please enjoy these pictures from our Veterans Day assembly. |
